Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania (also known as The Rock or SRU) is a public, master's-level university that offers some doctoral programs in cooperation with Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Both institutions are members of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. Slippery Rock University is located in Slippery Rock, in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania, approximately 52 miles (84 km) north of Pittsburgh.
Slippery Rock University is now offering all incoming undergraduate international students upon admission a scholarship valued at $1,500.00!
It even gets better. After spring/summer if you have a cumulative 3.5 GPA or higher you could receive another $500.00 scholarship!
FINANCIAL AID & SCHOLARSHIPS
Upon admission all undergraduate international students are awarded the Provosts Scholarship for Global Diversity & Academic Achievement. After the first academic year the scholarship is renewable. For more details see our scholarships website.
In addition to the Provosts Scholarship there is another scholarship (the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence) awarded to currently enrolled international students that hold a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher. There are also hundreds of scholarships available to SRU students; four are specifically reserved for currently enrolled international students: Stan Kendziorski Scholarship, Carol Holland Scholarship, Shiron Cooper Memorial Scholarship, and the International Student Scholarship.
SRU's international students are eligible to work on campus. Current wages are $7.25/hour. Students can work up to 20 hours per week when classes are in session and up to 37.5 hours per week over summer break and holiday periods.
Verification of English Language Proficiency
· TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score report with a minimum score of 500 on the paper test, 173 on the computer based test, or 61 on the internet based test. The Test of Written English is not required but is recommended.

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) results at the 6.0 band or higher.
